Tips to Improve your talking

Your thoughts while playing help developers make better games! Speaking out loud during testing gives valuable real-time feedback about your experience. Let's make it easier for you to share your thoughts naturally.

Getting Started:

  • Begin by reading game instructions aloud - it's a simple way to get comfortable talking

  • Remember, everyone feels a bit awkward at first - it's completely normal to feel self-conscious

  • Try practising casual conversations with yourself before your actual playtest

  • Share both positive and negative feedback thoughtfully. Instead of "this is bad," explain "this could work better because..."

During Your Playtest:

  • Describe what you're seeing: "I notice this power-up glowing" or "I'm trying to figure out where the menu is"

  • If you get stuck, pause for a second if needed, but tell us what you're thinking about or trying to do

  • Think of it as chatting with developers about their game - your natural reactions help them understand the player experience

  • Whether it's 5 minutes or 50 minutes, keep those thoughts coming - every minute of your feedback helps improve the game

Remember: Your continuous feedback is crucial - we review the entire recording, even if the playtest runs longer than expected.

Tips for Natural Commentary:

  • Mention what catches your attention

  • Talk about what you expect to happen next

  • Share your reactions to surprises or challenges

  • Point out things you find confusing or unclear

  • Tell us what makes you feel excited or frustrated

Think of yourself as helping create a better gaming experience - your honest thoughts and reactions are exactly what developers need to hear!
