Talk During Playtests? Yes, It's Required!

  • Speaking is mandatory for the qualification test and most playtests

  • Detailed commentary is needed for a complete test and payment eligibility

  • Check your invite email for rare exceptions when audio isn't required

  • If not specified, assume you must speak

English, Please

  • All communication, UI, and the qualification test must be in English

  • Using other languages in the qualification test means automatic failure

  • Other languages are only allowed if explicitly stated

Why Talking Matters, speaking during gameplay helps developers:

  • Identify points of confusion or frustration

  • Get real-time likes and dislikes

  • Understand in-the-moment thoughts and choices

  • Capture all important feedback

  • Learn why you make certain choices in the game

  • Ensure no important feedback is forgotten

Special Cases

  • Sometimes we run special playtests that don't need audio

  • If that's the case, we'll clearly mention it in your invite email's special instructions

Pro Tip: Keep talking for the entire recording, even if the playtest runs long! We review the complete recording.
